Yogurt is an important element in Turkish cuisine. Yogurt can accompany almost all meat dishes (kebabs, köfte) and vegetable dishes. In villages, yogurt is eaten regularly with rice or bread. The most popular way of serving yogurt as a mezze is Cacik, which is served with meat, sandwiches, rice and kebabs.
