Creamy and smooth, this rich mousse uses silken tofu instead of the traditional raw eggs. Serve it in individual dessert dishes or use as a pie filling in a graham cracker or cookie crust. You'll find silken tofu packaged in the grocery aisle.

  • 1 cup vanilla soymilk or other milk or milk alternative Add to list
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Add to list
  • 1/4  cup sweetener of choice (agave or honey work well) Add to list
  • 1 (8-ounce) package silken tofu Add to list
  • 1 cup fresh berries or sliced seasonal fruit (optional) Add to list

Combine chocolate chips, milk and vanilla extract in a small saucepan. Place over medium-low heat and stir until chocolate melts. Remove from heat and stir in sweetener.

Blend tofu in a food processor or blender until completely smooth. Slowly pour in melted chocolate mixture and process until smooth. Pour into individual serving dishes and chill for 1 to 2 hours.

If you like, serve garnished with fresh berries or sliced seasonal fruit, and top with Coconut Whipped Cream.

So easy to make, so tasty to eat. I didn't want to have to run all the way to Edmonds to pick some of this up tonight... so glad the recipe it here! Tomorrow I can go shop without having to rush over there before they close! Thanks for the great recipe!

<3 your store!

MMM indeed!

So glad you were able to whip up something delicious, msmarykate. Thanks for shopping PCC! -- Karen.

calories, etc.

Any chance PCC could put together info on calories of these recipes? Or at least, what quantity these recipes create? (I cup mousse, etc?)

Trying to count calories on deli foods I purchase, and it's really difficult. Would be great if we could at least get them on the website?

Re: Calories, etc.

Hello boroth, thanks for writing. We're working on getting nutrition information about our recipes online. It's been slow going as many of the natural and organic products we use in our deli and call for in our recipes are not in the mainstream database software used to create nutritional facts. Thanks for your patience.

Chocolate Mousse -- Vegan

Hi Please share the vegan version of this dessert!! I recently had it and LOVE the simplicity of it! Plus it is nice for those whom are vegan to have as an option!

RE: Vegan Chocolate Mousse

Thank you for your comment concerning our vegan chocolate mousse.

We're in the process of adapting many of our deli recipes for our website. It takes time, but hopefully we'll have more recipes to post soon. Perhaps that will include the vegan chocolate mousse!

In the meantime, we do have another vegan chocolate dessert recipe worth checking out. Here's a link

Any way to get it soy free?

Thanks for the awesome recipe. I am a total sucker for mousse. I can do soy sometimes, but it would be great to be able to do it without soy :)

Soy Free Mousse

Hi Crissy,

Thanks for your question.

The creator of this recipe does not have a version of this mousse without tofu. However, I encourage you to check out another chocolate mousse recipe in our database that doesn't involve soy. I've provided a quick link to it below.

Thanks again,
